Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Chicagoland Truck Center ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Chicagoland Truck Center mobile application and related services (the "App"). By using the App you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you register or use the App we collect:

• Email address
• Password (stored only as a salted hash — we never see or store your plaintext password)
• First and last name (optional)
• Phone number (optional)
• Company or fleet association, if assigned by your employer

Location information. When you use features that find fuel stations near you, the App sends your device's current latitude and longitude to our servers so we can return nearby stations and pricing. Location coordinates are processed per request and are not stored in our database as a location history.

Authentication tokens. After you sign in, we issue a JSON Web Token (JWT) that your device stores to keep you logged in. Tokens expire automatically.

Usage information. Our servers log standard request metadata (for example, timestamps, endpoints accessed, and error diagnostics) for the purposes of operating and securing the service.

We do not collect advertising identifiers, contacts, photos, microphone audio, or health data.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and maintain your account and authenticate you.
• To show fuel stations near your current location and display any company-specific discounts that apply to you.
• To send transactional emails such as password-reset links.
• To operate, monitor, and secure the App, and to diagnose technical issues.
• To comply with legal obligations or enforce our terms.

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these limited cases:

• Your employer or fleet, if you have been assigned to a company account, may see information related to your use of fuel discounts provided to that company.
• Service providers that help us run the App — for example, the email delivery provider we use to send password-reset messages. These providers are contractually restricted to using your information only to provide services to us.
• Legal and safety disclosures when required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or others.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it for legal, accounting, or security reasons.

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including TLS encryption in transit, hashed password storage, and signed JWT authentication. No online service can be guaranteed 100% secure, but we work to protect your data and respond promptly to any suspected incidents.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You may request to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Delete your account and associated personal information.
• Revoke the App's access to your device location at any time through your device settings. Doing so will disable nearby-station features but will not affect your account.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for commercial drivers and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. International Users

The App is operated from the United States. If you use the App from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection laws than your country of residence.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Effective date" above and, for material changes, provide additional notice through the App or by email. Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
